What to do when you can't find the book you want on the shelves.

I've found the number of the book I want but I can't find it on the shelves. What do I do?

Answer

If a book is not where the catalogue says it should be, there are several possible reasons. It may be waiting on a trolley to be re-shelved, be being used in the library by another student, have been mis-shelved or is possibly missing. Ask at the Library Service Desk and a staff member can check for you, or alternatively, place a hold on the item and we will notify you when it is found.

In rare cases if the book can't be found we may be able to offer you an alternative edition, request a copy through Inter Library Loan or buy a replacement.
